Wrapping that's friendlier to the earth
If you haven’t done your wrapping yet, here are some simple and effective ways to get those gifts under the tree. We all know most store-bought wrapping papers can’t be recycled, so I prefer this option.
I used:
Fine tip permanent marker or metallic silver/gold markers
rosemary sprigs from the garden
Bear in mind, I’m not naturally creative. So don’t think you have to be an artist for this.
The color box was the gorgeous display box that my Annmarie Gianni foundation came in - it’s so great to repurpose. I painted it in my niece’s favorite colors, and then place the doily over the corner. Using the sponge brush, I sponged on some white acrylic paint. Done.
For the bigger boxes, I used a DRY paintbrush and dipped it in the paint. One box had long fast strokes in one direction, the other I did short ones. Wrap it up with string, and presto!
The spotted ones were just paintbrushes in very watered down acrylic. And I splashed it onto the paper. I did it outside to be a more responsible adult.
Last was the string light box. I did a swirl with a marker, and had random spirals coming off of them. Then I dipped my index finger in different paint color to press by the spirals. Done!
